About my art

Why art matters to me

Art is a powerful tool for reflection, offering new perspectives and inspiring change. It allows me to connect with myself and others, fostering understanding and empathy. For me, art is not just about creation—it’s about engaging with the world and sparking conversations that promote growth and inclusivity.

My artistic journey

I began my artistic journey in my late twenties, seeking a creative outlet during a global pandemic. Self-taught, I’ve filled sketchbooks with drawings, paintings, and collages, always following my curiosity. While I experiment with different mediums, my go-to tools are colored pencils and watercolor.

Over time I longed for something more individual in my sketchbooks, so I started binding them from old bookcovers on my own – a perfect way to combine my love for books and creativity.

Values & sustainability

Sustainability, tolerance, equity, a critical view of the world and the DIY philosophy guide my life and are core to my art. I strive for conscious consumption by (re)using sustainable materials whenever possible and creating with responsibility. I believe art should be accessible for everyone and can contribute to positive change in both the individual and society as a whole.
